From Monday, 3 February until Friday, 14 February, we are closing the cycle path on the west side of Amstelveenseweg (on the side of the old ING head offices building known as ‘De Schoen’/‘The Shoe’) between IJsbaanpad to the north and Skûtsjespad to the south of the A10.

Diversion for cyclists and pedestrians

During this period, cyclists will be diverted via Piet Kranenbergpad, which we are opening especially for these works. Good to know: the cycle path on the other side of Amstelveenseweg is usable in both directions and therefore makes a good alternative. Pedestrians will be diverted across the bus platform alongside the works, with assistance from traffic controllers between the hours of 07.00 and 19.00. There will be no disruption to other traffic.

Please note:

  • Bicycle parking at Amstelveenseweg station
Because of the works on the west side of Amstelveenseweg, we advise cyclists to park their bicycles on the east side of the station Amsterdam UMC (location VUmc).
  • Jachthavenweg closed in the direction of Bosbaan
Some distance away to the south, Jachthavenweg is closed in the direction of Amstelveen because of other works. Follow the diversions signposted locally.

Creating space for parallel structure

We are working on the widening of the A10 Zuid, between the De Nieuwe Meer junction and the Amstel junction. We are adding two new lanes to the existing four lanes in both directions: four for through-traffic and two for local traffic (S108 and S109). To do this, the existing viaduct across Amstelveenseweg needs to be widened. This is the reason for the closure between 3 February and 24 February.

Zuidasdok: plenty of work in 2025

In 2025, we will be hard at work on the widening of the A10 Zuid and the regeneration of De Nieuwe Meer junction and Amsterdam Zuid station. To give you some idea, we have compiled a list of the major disruption (pdf, in Dutch) we are expecting in 2025.
