Underneath the railway and metro tracks and the A10 Zuid, we will be working on the final touches of the Brittenpassage. Construction work will also continue above ground, including on the metro platforms for the additional passenger tunnel at Amsterdam Zuid station. Slightly further east, we will be pushing a section of the roof of Vivaldipassage into position underneath the railway tracks. In the future, this tunnel for cyclists and pedestrians will connect Beatrixpark with Antonio Vivaldistraat. At the De Nieuwe Meer junction, we will be working on a new Schinkelbrug bridges and the flyover that will connect the A10 Zuid with the A4 (in the direction of Schiphol/The Hague). Next to Amstelveenseweg, we will also continue work building the new viaducts needed for the widening of the A10 Zuid.

Overview of disruption in 2026

This work will take place throughout the year and will involve road closures and disruption to railway services on many weekends. We believe it is important to give you an idea of what to expect so that you can take this into account when planning holidays or days out. With that in mind, we have drawn up an overview of the major disruption expected in 2026 (pdf). This overview is obviously provisional to some extent because we know from experience that the dates of major works may still change. Be sure to keep an eye on our website for the most recent information. All current disruption is always posted here along with the disruption anticipated in the near future.

April 2026 and summer holiday

Every month, (weekend) disruption to railway services and road closures will be necessary to enable us to do our work. The disruption in 2026 will peak in April. During the weekend of 11-12 April and in the period from 27 April until 5 May, there will be times when there are no trains running to and from Amsterdam Zuid and sections of the A10 Zuid and A4 will be closed (see disruption overview for details). During the summer holiday, we will be closing Amstelveenseweg underneath the A10 Zuid in order to build new viaducts here for the widening of the motorway.

Closure of A9 Badhoevedorp – Holendrecht

In our disruption overview for 2026, you will also notice major closures of the A9 between the Badhoevedorp junction and Holendrecht. Rijkswaterstaat (Public Works Department) is widening the road here, creating four lanes in each direction and adding a reversible lane. The closures of the A9 and those caused by Zuidasdok have a major effect on each other. When a section of the A9 is closed, the traffic will be diverted via the A10 Zuid and vice-versa. You can find the most recent information about the A9 closures here.
