Construction of the Ravelly residential tower began less than two years ago, in September 2024. The building, with its distinctive green façade elements, stands next to the new Kindercampus Zuidas. Ravelly comprises 75 social rented homes. Of these, 29 apartments have a floor area of 73 square metres and are suitable for families. The remaining apartments have a floor area of 45 square metres. The building’s ground floor (the plinth) provides space for a childcare centre, which will become part of Kindercampus Zuidas. Residents also have access to a bicycle parking facility on the ground floor.

1,350 homes

With the completion of Ravelly, the new, low-traffic Ravel residential neighbourhood will welcome its very first residents this summer. Ravel is located east of Beethovenstraat, along De Boelelaan and south of the Goed Genoeg sports park (AFC). We are building a total of 1,350 homes here, comprising 40% social rented housing, 40% mid-market rented housing and 20% owner-occupied homes. In addition to housing, the neighbourhood will include community facilities, a school (Kindercampus Zuidas), cafés and restaurants, commercial premises and workplaces. The neighbourhood is accessed via the newly constructed Maurice Ravellaan. The car-free central area will be designed as a green meeting place where play, walking and relaxation take centre stage.

Architecture

The different apartment layouts in Ravelly and the stepped terraces on the eastern, southern and western sides give the building its distinctive character. This is emphasised by a façade clad in curved grey-green concrete panels. The aluminium window frames have a light bronze finish and have been treated using an electrochemical anodising process, helping them retain their appearance for longer. With its trapezoidal openings at ground-floor level, the building appears firmly anchored within the green and lively residential neighbourhood, where architecture and landscape go hand in hand. A green plan has been designed for the roof of the childcare centre (on the first floor), featuring plant species that flower throughout the year.
