As Zuidas is constantly changing and developing, it is important for us to have a clear picture of how people travel in the area. By bicycle, public transport or perhaps by car? We would like to know which way of commuting people prefer – and what influences their choice. It is essential that people who regularly travel to and from Zuidas share their knowledge and experiences. Where are the problem areas? What could be improved, and what is needed to make that happen? You know best.

What would persuade you to cycle?
The mobility survey has been conducted since 2014 and is repeated every one or two years. Among other things, we look at the different modes of transport people use and their experiences of journey times. What, for example, would it take to persuade you to cycle to Zuidas? Insights like these enable us to make targeted improvements to accessibility, sustainability and quality of life.
Amsterdam Zuid station
The number of people using Zuidas is expected to increase by as much as 50% over the coming years. We are currently regenerating Amsterdam Zuid station, for example, so that it can accommodate 250,000 passengers a day by 2030, compared with 80,000 today. On 1 November 2026, the station’s second passenger tunnel, the Brittenpassage, will open. The existing passenger tunnel will then close for several years for a major redevelopment. This means that cyclists and pedestrians can also expect many changes in the area around the station over the coming years.
