Between 22 July and 30 August 2024, the TriAX Construction Consortium (Besix, Dura Vermeer and Heijmans) is setting up a construction and work site on the south side of the A10 between Piet Kranenbergpad and Amstelveenseweg. In order to set up this new construction site – a similar site was already created towards the river Schinkel – it is necessary for the existing bus lane to be moved. Starting on 2 September, bus traffic coming from the A10 will be diverted southwards at Piet Kranenbergpad to Skûtsjespad. The bus stop next to Amstelveenseweg will also be relocated there, around hundred metres away from the existing stop.

The diversion will start on Monday, 2 September (click to enlarge)

Widening of A10 Zuid

The bus lane and bus stop need to be moved because the existing bus lane is located just where the A10 Zuid embankment is set to be widened in order to create two additional lanes for local traffic. We therefore need to clear this location and the area underground. The diversion of the bus via Skûtsjespad is temporary and will last until the start of 2026. Motorists, cyclists and pedestrians face a range of closures and diversions that will be indicated locally by means of yellow signs.

De Nieuwe Meer junction

The structural renewal of the A10 Zuid is part of Zuidasdok and begins with the large-scale reconstruction of the De Nieuwe Meer junction. The contract for this project was awarded in 2022 to the TriAX Construction Consortium (Besix, Dura Vermeer and Heijmans). We are building a new flyover and bridges across the Schinkel and widening the A10 Zuid from four to six lanes in each direction. Local traffic and through-traffic will be separated from each other. We are creating the space needed to improve traffic flow on the A10 Zuid and make it safer. To enable this to happen, major changes are required on the De Nieuwe Meer junction and later also on the Amstel junction.
