Because of the relocation of the most northerly metro track and platform at Amsterdam Zuid station, metro lines 50 and 51 have been running a reduced service in both directions since 8 July 2024. People travelling between Amstelveenseweg station and RAI have also had to change metros. The metros were scheduled to resume their normal service on Monday, 26 August. This is now expected to be delayed by two days to Wednesday, 28 August. Metro 50 will not be running on these two days.

Door het meest noordelijke metrospoor te verplaatsen en verhogen, maken we ruimte voor bredere By moving the most northerly metro track and raising its height, we are creating space for wider platforms and a taller station passageway. The demolition of the track and changes to the viaducts across Parnassusweg and Beethovenstraat all ran smoothly, but there were delays putting the track back in place. As a result, the track cannot be opened until later. The North/South line (metro 52) continues to run its normal schedule.
