12 February: walk-in meeting about Amstel junction

In the years ahead, Zuidasdok will be working hard on the widening of the A10 Zuid between the De Nieuwe Meer and Amstel junctions. This will help to improve traffic flow and make it safer. It will also require some major modifications to the Amstel junction. In that area, we will be building or renovating 23 viaducts, demolishing the existing southern Rozenoordbrug bridge and adding two new bridges. This is a major undertaking that we would like to brief you on at the Van der Valk Hotel Amsterdam Zuidas on Wednesday, 12 February 2025. You are warmly invited to attend.

What will you see and hear?

Of course, there will be every opportunity to put questions to our specialists. Maps will be available showing you where there will be noise barriers and how high they will be. We will also be able to show you what will change at the Amstel junction compared to the current situation. In addition, we will be screening an animation outlining what the new junction will look like for motorists – and there will be lots more to discover.

Reconstruction of Amstel junction

Part of the process of widening the A10 Zuid involves the reconstruction of the Amstel junction. This project is needed in order to separate through-traffic and local traffic from each other and add two extra lanes in both directions. To do that, we will be building new road connections, bridges across the Amstel and noise barriers.

We will also be making changes to the local road network in several places. For example, the existing connection for cyclists across the southern Rozenoordbrug bridge will be moved to the new bridge that will be built for the parallel carriageway. In addition, between the Amstel and the police academy, Ouderkerkerdijk will be made into a cycle-only street and changes also need to be made on Europaboulevard, where the carriageways connect to the tunnel that we will build for the A10 Zuid.
