Night work on metro platforms

Over the course of two nights, we will remove part of a sheet pile close to the stairs that lead up to the metro platforms. For safety reasons, this work will need to be carried out between 1.00 and 5.00 (in the morning) so that the metro platforms will be completely empty. That gives us only a short window in which to complete the job, and we use the vibration method to do this. Traffic will not be affected, but if you live in the area, you may notice some noise.

Modernization of the existing passenger underpass

This work is part of preparations for the modernization of the Minervapassage, the existing passenger underpass at Amsterdam Zuid station. Eventually, this underpass will be 40 metres wide – compared to just 12 metres today. But we can only do this if we make the roof of the underpass much wider. In 2023, we will put the first sections for the new roof in place. This is why the sheet pile now needs to be removed, because it is in the way.

Work for the Zuidasdok project in November

This is the first of a series of projects being carried out for Zuidasdok in November. All of this work relates to the construction of the second passenger underpass at Amsterdam Zuid station: the Brittenpassage. We are going to build new roof sections on our construction site between the metro tracks, which we will be putting into place during the Ascension Day weekend in 2023 (18 to 21 May). The next work is planned for Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 November, and we will inform you about that very soon.
