15 November: meeting on regeneration of Amstel interchange

Zuidasdok, one of the Netherlands’ largest infrastructure projects, is widening the A10 Zuid between the De Nieuwe Meer and Amstel interchanges. Local and through-traffic will be separated from each other and the number of lanes increased from 4 to 6 in both directions. None of this will be easy to achieve. This is why we have already held two information evenings this year in Joan Muyskenweg. On Wednesday, 15 November 2023, our focus will be on stakeholders in the area around Europaboulevard and Kop Zuidas. You are warmly invited to join us then at the Zuid City Desk.

Our plans for the Amstel interchange

We are creating the space needed to improve traffic flow on the A10 Zuid and make it safer. We are separating through-traffic from local traffic and installing a parallel structure. This will involve building or adapting 23 viaducts, adding new connections, building new bridges across the Amstel and installing noise barriers. We will also be making changes to the local road network in several places. For example, the existing connection for cyclists across the southern Rozenoordbrug bridge will be moved to the new bridge that will be built for the parallel lane. In addition, Ouderkerkerdijk, between the river Amstel and the police academy, will be made into a cycle-only street and changes will also need to be made on Europaboulevard where the traffic lanes connect to the tunnel. In a nutshell, there is a lot set to happen for the Amstel interchange and we are eager to discuss it with you.
