Valley has now become an unmissable eye-catcher in Zuidas. In mid-June, an extraordinary job was on the schedule. The Valley construction consortium started work hanging and fitting seven large protruding parts onto the building. Our photographer was on hand to capture it.
At the Goed Genoeg sports park, home of AFC, contractor Sallandse United is busy working on the completion of two new football pitches. Sports Division Manager Arjan Emaus: ‘There’s a lot happening around us while we’re working – the football has to continue.’
The builders working on the Valley project are currently working on both the shell of the building and on the interior. ‘Under the current circumstances, it’s pretty remarkable that our team of 150 is still working as normal’, says site manager Ruud van der Thiel.
“It’s an extremely complicated puzzle. We’ve been working on it for the past twenty years.” Designer Joost de Wit and urban planner Martijn de Wit are talking about the refurbishment of the ‘Goed Genoeg’ sports complex which is the home of AFC.
The ‘Goed Genoeg’ sports park, the home of AFC, is to get new pitches and a new clubhouse. AFC chairman, Ad Westerhof, is happy that work has started because the preparation process was long and caused much debate.
