Rapid rise of The Pulse is all thanks to prefab

In the space of 18 months, The Pulse of Amsterdam has been transformed from a construction pit to an eyecatcher in the making. Alongside the A10, the two towers in this megaproject have shot out of the ground like mushrooms. Time for an update on construction progress.

Since the summer of 2021, the Kenniskwartier (or ‘Knowledge District’) has been building what should become the centrepiece of this new neighbourhood: The Pulse of Amsterdam. There’s not much to see at street level at the moment, but the contractors are already putting the finishing touches to the foundations below the ground.

Tree-felling to make way for Conservatorium and The Pulse

We are cutting down trees in two places in Zuidas. In order to provide space for the Conservatorium van Amsterdam music academy in Kapel & Convict, fifteen trees need to be felled. We will also be removing fifteen trees along the A10 in order to build The Pulse.

An urban biotope in Zuidas, with homes, offices and a cinema

A building that combines living and working with public facilities such as a cinema, bowling alley and cafés and restaurants. That is the concept of VORM Ontwikkeling for a new building on the site between the A10 and the sports fields of SC Buitenveldert.
