1000 Mahlerlaan

Among the tall office buildings of Zuidas, a different type of office building has been created that is smaller in size but offers greater comfort and elegance. Hospitality and retail areas and a lobby on the ground floor ensure a warm and lively welcome and a link with the ground level.

A green courtyard garden with terraces sits alongside the commercial amenities. It is a striking building that is compact in volume. Its characteristic façade, made up of travertine walls and floors combined with large glass sections, gives the building a warm and welcoming appearance. The glass in the façade is in various positions, in a random pattern. On the west and east sides, there are balconies and terraces.

The building has been deliberately designed to include a series of mezzanines and internal staircases between the floors, forming an informal route through the building. It boasts its own geothermal heating system that meets the building’s needs for heat and cooling. This efficient and sustainable form of energy-generation not only gives the building a favourable carbon footprint and a high level of user comfort, but also ensures service costs are kept low. The building is fitted with a range of other energy-efficient and sustainable solutions.
