De Boelelaan-Beethovenstraat accident causes major congestion

The accident happened at night. There was a collision with a traffic control unit, which has left the traffic lights out of operation. An emergency procedure was initiated in response, including road closures since the morning of Monday, 6 February. This has resulted in blockages, mainly during peak periods. The local transport strikes have also made matters worse, as more people have opted to travel by car rather than by bus.

Repair work

The situation is expected to last until Saturday, 11 February. Only one lane will be available in all directions at the junction until then. This is necessary to enable repair work to be performed safely. As soon as this has been completed, the traffic lights will be reactivated and all lanes reopened.
