In the new Ravel residential district, something extraordinary is happening. To the south of the AFC football pitches, we are digging a canal: Ravelgracht. The fertile soil that we are removing is set to be reused in other places in Amsterdam.
Starting in September 2023, we will spend a year working on the entrance to the new Ravel residential district: Maurice Ravellaan, with space for pedestrians, cyclists and plenty of green areas. We are also digging an actual canal, complete with bridges to the AFC sports fields.
The cycle path in Beethovenstraat heading in the direction of Valley is again in use. We needed the cycle path in order to carry out work on cables and pipelines and prepare the two plots in the new Ravel residential district for construction. This has now been done.

Goed Genoeg, the new public sports park, and the new AFC clubhouse were officially inaugurated on Saturday 4 September 2021. The sports fields have been moved slightly to the north to make room for new houses in the residential district of Ravel.
