Preliminary design for Beatrixpark site now ready

The area between Kapel & Convict and the AkzoNobel and Stibbe buildings and the St. Nicolaaslyceum will be given a new layout in the next few years. The preliminary design for the public area is now ready. It is set to be green and park-like.

Central cycle path to Beatrixpark removed for house-building

Starting on 9 October, we will be removing the cycle path that leads from Beethovenstraat, between the Stibbe and AkzoNobel offices, to Beatrixpark. It runs diagonally across the site on which we will be building housing in the years ahead.

19 January: meeting about housing at Beatrixpark

On 19 January 2022, developer Breevast is organising an information meeting about the planned housing construction on one of the plots next to Beatrixpark: plot 6/7. The architect and landscape architect will both attend the meeting.

Progress update on works in Beethoven neighbourhood

In the Beethoven neighbourhood, where a section of Beethovenstraat and part of Beatrixpark are located, housing is set to be built and an annex of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam is also being developed. Progress on both of these projects has turned out to be slightly different from our earlier reports.

Site access road for housing complexes and Conservatorium

Two new housing complexes are set to be built behind the AkzoNobel, Stibbe and the St. Nicolaaslyceum buildings. To enable construction to happen, we are creating a site access road starting on Monday, 13 September 2021. It will be used for work on the Kapel & Convict site.

Ideas wanted for green area between housing complexes

Close to Beatrixpark, two apartment buildings with a total of around 350 homes are being built in the next few years. The area between and around them will be given new green landscaping. Until 13 April 2021, you can contribute your ideas about the design online.
