On the former site of the British School of Amsterdam, housing association Eigen Haard is set to develop two separate buildings that will provide both social housing and homes for the elderly. An information evening was held on 28 September to update the local neighbourhood.
By 2026, two energy-neutral residential buildings will be standing on the spot where the British School of Amsterdam used to be located until 2021. Together, they will provide 180 social rental and senior housing units. Construction work will begin in Fred. Roeskestraat at the end of 2024.
There are plans to build social rented housing on the former site of the British School Amsterdam (BSA) in Fred. Roeskestraat. Since this will take a while, we have temporarily relandscaped the area, making it a lot greener. Pupils from the Geert Groote College nearby could not be happier.
The former main building of the Amsterdam British School in Fred. Roeskestraat is being demolished. The school moved to new accommodation in Havenstraat last year. The location will now be used for social housing.
In April, the British School of Amsterdam (BSA) relocated from Fred. Roeskestraat to a new building in Havenstraat. We have been planning to build homes on the site in Fred. Roeskestraat vacated by the school for a long time. On 23 June this year, we had talks with the local community about this.
Fred. Roeskestraat will soon be home to some affordable rented housing. It will be located on the site currently occupied by the British School of Amsterdam. The school is relocating to Havenstraat in Amsterdam-Zuid in April 2021. A housing association is then expected to build on the site.
