Where in Zuidas
This summer, we will continue to work on the upgrade of Amsterdam Zuid station. First there will be work on the metro, and after that the southern section of the A10 towards Utrecht will be closed for 11 days. During that period, we want to show you what is going on and make sure you’re having fun. All the activities are free! The starting point is our temporary information centre on Mahlerplein: the Zuidas Summer Shack.
What is there to do?
Open the shack! With Skate Heroes
Skate Heroes will be opening of the Zuidas Summer Shack at 12 noon. Come and take a look, they’re really good.
The Perfect Shot
On the same day, our top photographer Jan Vonk will provide two free architectural photography mini courses: one with a camera and one with a mobile phone. Join Jan on a walk around Zuidas, and see the area through the lens of a professional.
Visit Valley: the vertical village
International delegations have come to Zuidas especially to admire this creation by the architect Winy Maas. We can give you a guided tour on four different dates. This is an unmissable opportunity. Our guide will take you up the Valley and into the atrium.
Journey to the future
You probably haven’t seen much of the enormous Zuidasdok project until now, but you soon will. In the meantime, we can give you a glimpse into the future with our architects, who already have the final picture in their minds. Take a look inside their heads, using your mobile phone. You can do this on three different dates.
See for yourself: a gap in the A10 motorway
This is another opportunity that you just can’t miss. Most cars drive over it so fast that they miss it completely, but not this summer. Starting 22 July, we are completely digging up a section of the A10 motorway next to Amsterdam Zuid station for a distance of 100 metres. That will lead to some inconvenience for motorists, but you are welcome to come and see for yourself why we are doing it. You’ll get a close-up view of an impressive piece of engineering. There are three different dates when you can do this.

There is much more to do in and around the Zuidas Summer Shack. For example, take a bike tour with Gijs. Create your own work of art using a piece of the A10 motorway. Build a model of the city of the future, or come and play games. And while you have your diary open, make a note of the bingo and silent disco on Thursday 4 August. There is something for everyone.
