Tripolis-Park set for completion

The smell of fresh asphalt is in the air as the workers tackle the public space around the complex, covering some 10,000 sq. m. Since our visit in 2022, most of the area in front of the building has been tiled and the structure where the lift will lead to the underground car park is clearly visible. It is also remarkably quiet: the brand-new Tripolis-Park ‘landscraper’ between us and the A10 appears to serve as an excellent sound barrier.

Accessible to the public

The ground floor of the new section, the ‘landscraper’, can be accessed by the public via various entrances. When the buildings, offering a total of 45,000 sq. m. of office space, are ultimately in use, anyone will be welcome to use one of the three revolving doors to enter the new part of the building to visit a restaurant. They can also walk through it to the Sporthallen Zuid on the other side of the building. This is exactly what is intended: Tripolis-Park is set to become a veritable urban campus, with green roofs open to the public and a publicly accessible ground floor boasting hospitality. The plans even include a basketball court and an amphitheatre.

Glass

Right behind the main entrance, one’s attention is immediately drawn to the waiting area next to the lift: it is clad in mirrors from top to bottom. Glass features very prominently in the building: the numerous windows, especially on the higher floors, offer panoramic views of the surrounding area. But the reverse is also true: from the A10, you can see the two monumental towers through the glass façade. Especially in the evenings, when they are fully illuminated by a sophisticated lighting plan.

Old and new

The wooden façades, the deck flooring and the tiered shapes of the old part contrast with the glass, aluminium and straight lines in the new. From some angles, especially inside the building, it even looks quite futuristic. Yet it still feels natural as you walk via the numerous staircases and passageways from one part of the building to the other. And you can always take a breath of fresh air in one of the outer areas on the roofs of the two towers, where there are even spaces for yoga and other forms of relaxation on the wooden decking.

The finishing touches

Tripolis 300 has already been completed and awaits the arrival of its tenant Uber in April or May. Tripolis 200, let to De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek, is almost there, but not quite: a shortage of materials means that the new façade can only be finished when the final delivery of aluminium arrives. The outdoor space adjoining Tripolis 200 and 300 is set for completion just before the summer of 2023.

After completion of the two monumental towers and the ‘landscraper’, developer Flow will focus on transforming the third tower: Tripolis 100. More information on the schedule and further details will follow soon.
