Between the end of June and mid-December 2024, Zuidasdok will be closing the A10 Zuid for eight weekends. These closures will cause serious traffic disruption and increased journey times. We are giving you advance information about these works and the potential diversions.
In 2024, the reconstruction of the De Nieuwe Meer junction is set to start after a long period of preparation. At two walk-in meetings on Wednesday 13 March, we will give you an idea of the works you can expect in the years ahead and the related disruption.
From 29 January until 16 February 2024, we are closing Spoorslag, the cycle path and footpath parallel to the A10 Zuid next to the AFC Amsterdam football pitches. In this area, we are preparing to build an additional breakdown bay on the A10 Zuid.
Starting in the summer of 2024, we will set to work on a complex logistical puzzle around the De Nieuwe Meer interchange. In order to reconstruct the interchange, we want to be able to supply the work sites safely and with minimum possible disruption. So, how do we plan to do this?
The TriAX construction consortium has presented a defibrillator to the members of the Ons Buiten community garden. TriAX funded the defibrillator from a bonus it received that it wanted to use for the benefit of local residents in the area around the De Nieuwe Meer interchange.
During the preparations for the reconstruction of the De Nieuwe Meer interchange, we have been able to conduct soil surveys without any hindrance. But from the end of August 2023, there will be no way of avoiding it: in order to conduct further surveys and investigations, we need to remove the plants.

The dismantling of the Schinkelbrug bridge control towers after half a century marks the end of an era. For now, the operators will be working from a hut. ‘You can definitely see more on camera, but you miss the sense of belonging to the bridge.’
At the De Nieuwe Meer interchange, we are experimenting with so-called BioBlocks: compressed waste from plant materials on which new plants can grow. We aim to use them in the future to create green walls on either side of the A10 Zuid.
Today sees the start of the official consultation period for the exemption to the Nature Conservation Act for the De Nieuwe Meer interchange. This exemption regulates how to take special measures to protect nature in order to carry out works that would otherwise not be permissible.
In the tender for the work to reconstruct the De Nieuwe Meer interchange, the offer put forward by TriAX has been judged to be the best. This provisional awarding of the project marks the start of the process of widening one of the busiest motorways in the Netherlands, the A10 Zuid.
