Successful Easter weekend of work on Zuidasdok

A new piece of the foundations for the extra station passageway, a wider platform and a bend in railway track 4. That’s what we have to show for 100 hours of work over Easter weekend. On the morning of Tuesday, 6 April 2021, the trains and metros resumed normal services.

Pre-Easter hoisting tests at Zuidasdok

The start and end point for the Amsteltram (line 25) will temporarily be located at Eduard van Beinumstraat, on the north side of Amsterdam Zuid station. This has been agreed by the participants in the Zuidasdok project.

Platform-widening work continues despite curfew

In spite of the curfew, we are once again working between the railway and metro tracks at Amsterdam Zuid station. Until 4 February 2021, we are preparing work for the widening of the platform for railway tracks 3 and 4.

Renovated Amstelveen line put into use

The Amstelveen line, tram line 25, was put into use. Officially from Sunday 13 December 2020, but it is already possible to hop on. The renovation progressed entirely according to plan. Only the definitive stop at the Amsterdam Zuid station is still a problem.

Calling all lovers of construction! Since 13 November 2020, an additional webcam has been pointing at the construction work underway on two roof sections for the additional passenger tunnel at Amsterdam Zuid station. You can now watch the construction live from the northern and southern sides.

Zuidasdok builds work island between the tracks

We are in the process of preparing the construction of two roof sections for the additional entrance to Amsterdam Zuid station. The work will be done between two metro tracks. So how do you build two huge pieces of concrete with only minimal space in which to work? According to Emiel Vergouw, that’s not the only challenge.

Two roof sections for new station passageway in 2021

Work on the additional passenger tunnel for Amsterdam Zuid station, the Brittenpassage, is slowly continuing. In April and August 2021, we will be inserting the second and third roof sections into position. Work outdoors to prepare for this is already starting on 14 September 2020.
