Tendering process launched for housing and offices in Ravel

On 26 April 2023, the tendering process for a new project in the future Ravel residential district was launched. Between the Valley building and De Boelelaan, there are two plots where social and mid-market rented housing, office accommodation and a supermarket are planned.

In the Ravel residential neighbourhood, the Kindercampus Zuidas has a brand-new natural playground and it’s even better than the old one. ‘In my view, a natural playground can be judged a success if there are as many places to hide as possible.’

Last AFC pitch move makes space for housing

The fifth and final AFC pitch has now been moved in a northerly direction. This completes the redevelopment of the sports park. It has created space for the new Ravel residential neighbourhood, where we will be building around 1,350 homes in the years ahead.

Tic-Tac-Toe: 75 mid-market rental homes in the new Ravel district

One of the first projects in the new residential neighbourhood of Ravel has now been announced: Tic-Tac-Toe. The project will include 75 family homes of an average of 80 square metres in the medium-priced rental segment. Construction will begin in early 2024 and is expected to be completed in 2025.

‘Sapiens’ creative museum, workshop and debate centre in Valley

‘Sapiens’ is coming to Valley. According to the initiators of the project – Hogeschool Inholland, Naturalis Biodiversity Centre and VU University Amsterdam – Sapiens will be a 'creative centre for the Anthropocene'. A museum, workshop and debate centre all rolled into one.

From start to finish: Valley in images

Valley is now virtually complete. Developer EDGE and the Valley construction consortium have successfully built a multifunctional building that will give Zuidas a new look. Hundreds of construction workers have spent around three and a half years working on it. Below is a visual retrospective.

New sports park and AFC club building officially opened

Goed Genoeg, the new public sports park, and the new AFC clubhouse were officially inaugurated on Saturday 4 September 2021. The sports fields have been moved slightly to the north to make room for new houses in the residential district of Ravel.

Kindercampus ‘community hub in the new Ravel neighbourhood’

In 2024, the Kindercampus Zuidas childcare centre is moving to a brand-new building in the new Ravel residential neighbourhood. As a result, the primary school and childcare facility is set to take on a real community function. ‘We still want to have a place where we can continue to build huts.’

On 21 June 2021, the world-famous landscape architect Piet Oudolf, who designed the gardens for Valley, visited the building for the first time and he was impressed by what he saw. We joined him to see how Valley is becoming a vertical green valley.

Laying the groundwork for the new Ravel residential area

The word ‘avenue’ probably conjures up an image of tall trees and elegant houses. The newest avenue to be created in Zuidas – Maurice Ravellaan – still has a long way to go before it looks like that, but the first work has already begun. Ravellaan will be the principal road serving the new Ravel residential area.

Neighbours respond positively to Ravel

If everything goes smoothly, the City Council will officially approve the zoning plan for the new Ravel residential district in the summer of 2021. We have held talks on several occasions with businesses, employees and residents nearby in order to take their ideas on board as much as possible.
