- Work starts on multifunctional building The Pulse Construction work has started on The Pulse, yet another incredible eyecatcher in Zuidas. Boasting housing, offices, a cinema, bars and restaurants, the building embodies what the Innovation Quarter (‘Kenniskwartier’) is set to become: a vibrant part of Zuidas and Amsterdam.
- Make your idea a reality with Neighbourhood Budget 2021 Do you have ideas for improving Zuidas and making it more attractive? If so, they could actually become a reality. You have the rest of September to apply for a financial contribution to make your idea happen. This is all thanks to the Neighbourhood Budget ('Buurtbudget') 2021.
- 28 September: walking and talking about a greener Verdi The residents of Verdi, the westernmost neighbourhood of Zuidas, have heard a lot of talk about a greener Verdi. What exactly we mean by that is outlined in the Verdi Green Plan (‘Groenplan Verdi’). On 28 September 2021, we will be telling you all about it during a walk. - Site access road for housing complexes and Conservatorium Two new housing complexes are set to be built behind the AkzoNobel, Stibbe and the St. Nicolaaslyceum buildings. To enable construction to happen, we are creating a site access road starting on Monday, 13 September 2021. It will be used for work on the Kapel & Convict site.
- New sports park and AFC club building officially opened Goed Genoeg, the new public sports park, and the new AFC clubhouse were officially inaugurated on Saturday 4 September 2021. The sports fields have been moved slightly to the north to make room for new houses in the residential district of Ravel.
- Zuidas market opens on Thursday 2 September A weekly market in Zuidas will be held for the first time on Thursday 2 September. There will be 16 market stalls on Gershwinplein to begin with, offering mainly food products. Amsterdam Zuid district council will examine whether the market is a success after 18 months.
- Museum of Contemporary Art in the old court house building There are plans for a new art gallery in the old court house on Parnassusweg, so Zuidas could soon be home to another cultural hotspot.
- Nieuw-Zuid consortium to build public transport hub at Amsterdam Zuid The construction consortium Nieuw-Zuid (Mobilis, Boskalis and Van Gelder) has been awarded the contract for modernization and expansion work at Amsterdam Zuid station. The first phase of the contract was signed on 26 August.
- New football pitches for SC Buitenveldert Three new artificial grass pitches have been laid at SC Buitenveldert football club this summer. The club is located between Mahlerlaan and De Boelelaan, and its old pitches were worn out. ‘We’ll be able to use these new pitches for many years to come’, said board member Paul Rijnierse.
