In the last week of June 2023, we had to halt sheet piling work west of Amsterdam Zuid station due to the instability of the metro track. We will complete the work on Saturday 1 July, after which we will repair the track.
Zuidas is much less busy during the summer. But, for us, this is actually a reason to continue working hard, including on the construction of the additional passageway at Amsterdam Zuid station: the Brittenpassage. Here’s an overview of our plans up to October 2023.
During the night of 9-10 June 2023, we moved the first roof section for the existing passageway at Amsterdam Zuid station around 114 m to the east. The huge sheet of concrete is now well and truly in position. We take a look back at the process.

From the 31 May 2023, construction traffic will be able to access the site by means of a pontoon floating in the pond. This will ensure that the busy cycle path remains free.
In the Minervapassage, the existing entrance to Amsterdam Zuid station, we are replacing the roof. In the evening of 9 June 2023, we will be moving a section of the new roof into position. This means that there will be another diversion in the passageway from 9 until 11 June.
Starting on the evening of Friday, 9 June, Amsterdam Zuid station will be the scene of a spectacle. We are moving a gigantic section of the new roof for the station entrance – the Minervapassage – into position. And you can come and watch the operation in person. All you need to do is register.
