2023: the year of shifting and digging

The broad contours of the second passageway at Amsterdam Zuid station became visible. The existing passageway was also renovated. Numerous construction projects were completed. We also put together a great summer party. All of that – and much more – was 2023 in Zuidas.

20 November: sheet pile works in Van Beinumstraat

Starting on Monday, 20 November, we will be using vibration to insert sheet piles into the ground in Eduard van Beinumstraat. This is where we are working to clear the area underground to enable the construction of the northern motorway tunnel. There may be disruption caused by noise and vibration.

Avoid having your bike removed

Do you regularly travel to Amsterdam Zuid station by bike? If you do, we have important news. Any bikes left around the station that are not parked in a designated spot, cycle rack or one of the (underground) bicycle parks can be removed.

A dive into the world of sheet pile walls

In Zuidas, we are building quite a lot of construction pits, often surrounded by steel sheet pile walls. But not all these walls are the same. The method used to drive a sheet pile into the ground can also vary according to the location. We take a look at how it all works.

Preparatory work on A10 tunnel next to WTC

Starting on 31 July, we will be doing preparatory work for the future A10 tunnel in Matthijs Vermeulenpad. For the safety of passers-by, this often-used route, leading from Beethovenstraat to Zuidplein and the station, will be closed completely.

3 July: meeting to discuss works in Prinses Irenebuurt area

A lot of construction work is taking place between Amsterdam Zuid station and Prinses Irenestraat. In the upcoming period, there will also be works in and around the station. On 3 July 2023, we are organising a walk-in meeting at the Thomaskerk to update you on what is happening.

Parnassusweg closed for two weekends in city direction

Because of construction work, Parnassusweg will be closed to cars and buses travelling in the direction of the city in the last weekend of May and first weekend of June 2023. This will be followed in the summer by a two-month road closure for cars travelling out of the city.

Green, sustainable turf walls along the A10 Zuid

At the De Nieuwe Meer interchange, we are experimenting with so-called BioBlocks: compressed waste from plant materials on which new plants can grow. We aim to use them in the future to create green walls on either side of the A10 Zuid.
