Anti-graffiti tests for Amsterdam Zuid station

We have conducted tests to identify which coating and which removal product will be most effective in combating graffiti at the new Amsterdam Zuid station. We have found a product that most effectively meets our requirements.

15 November: meeting on regeneration of Amstel interchange

Sheet piling work in Van Beinumstraat postponed

Today was supposed to see the start of work installing sheet piling into the ground in Eduard van Beinumstraat. However, these works have now been postponed until further notice as a result of a setback.

Preparatory work on A10 Zuid in Van Beinumstraat

From 16 October 2023 until Christmas, part of Eduard van Beinumstraat (next to Wagamama restaurant) will be transformed temporarily into a construction site. We are clearing the area underground to enable the construction of the northern motorway tunnel.

Dig-dig-dig for extra station passageway

After years of construction away from public view, the digging has started for the passenger tunnel at Amsterdam Zuid station: the Brittenpassage. We are removing 50,000 cubic metres of sand from underneath the A10, metro and railway tracks. And the site is spectacular to behold.

Removing greenery from De Nieuwe Meer interchange

During the preparations for the reconstruction of the De Nieuwe Meer interchange, we have been able to conduct soil surveys without any hindrance. But from the end of August 2023, there will be no way of avoiding it: in order to conduct further surveys and investigations, we need to remove the plants.

Henk Appels will shortly be standing down as Building Manager at the Atrium in Strawinskylaan. He sees a Zuidas that is becoming increasingly busy: homes are being built, and there will be a tunnel and a new passageway in the future. ‘Ultimately, we all need to work together.’

Reminder: A10 Zuid closed in the direction of Schiphol for two weekends

For two weekends in September 2023, there will be major traffic disruption on the south side of Amsterdam. Between 8 and 11 September and between 22 and 25 September, the A10 Zuid in the direction of Schiphol and The Hague will be closed from the Amstel interchange to the S108 VUmc access road.

On the evening of Wednesday, 9 August, it was finally time for the big event: shifting two sections of the roof for the Brittenpassage, the second passenger tunnel at Amsterdam Zuid station, into position millimetre by millimetre.
