On Saturday, 4 March 2023, we will be removing a tree container in Zuidplein, next to Eduard van Beinumstraat. The removal of the tree earlier this week caused no noise disruption, but it now turns out that we will need to use a demolition hammer for several hours.
In the weekend of 18 and 19 March 2023, we will again be working on sheet piles between the metro tracks at Amsterdam Zuid station. The work was originally planned for late January and we are now playing catch-up.
On Saturday, 25 February, we will be removing a tree in Zuidplein, next to Eduard van Beinumstraat. This is necessary because we will be building the northern motorway tunnel here in the future. Before we can do that, we first need to ensure that the ground underneath is clear of obstacles.

Preparation work has started on the construction of the fifth roof section for the new passenger tunnel at Amsterdam Zuid station, which will be called the Brittenpassage. We are currently working on the formwork, into which the concrete for the new section will be poured in the spring of 2023.
In 2023, we are hard at work renovating the existing passenger tunnel at Amsterdam Zuid station: the Minervapassage. In the future, it will be much taller and wider than it is now. We are starting by renovating part of the roof.
The dismantling of the Schinkelbrug bridge control towers after half a century marks the end of an era. For now, the operators will be working from a hut. ‘You can definitely see more on camera, but you miss the sense of belonging to the bridge.’
On 24 January 2023, the next section of the roof for the second passenger tunnel at Amsterdam Zuid station was moved closer to the A10. The operation was watched by dozens of interested people. We also captured the excitement on film and photographs.
From Saturday 5 August until the morning of Monday 14 August, there will be major traffic disruption on the south side of Amsterdam. For an eight-day period, the A4 and A10 Zuid will be closed from the Badhoevedorp interchange to the S109 RAI exit because of work on Amsterdam Zuid station.
At Amsterdam Zuid station, we will be inserting sheet piling and foundation piles into the ground until May 2023. This is to enable the construction of the second passenger tunnel and the renovation of the existing Minervapassage. The work is expected to cause occasional disruption.
