18 - 21 September: A10 West connection to A4 Schiphol closed

From 22.00 on Friday, 18 September 2026 until 05.00 on Monday, 21 September, the road connecting the A10 West to the A4 Schiphol will be closed from access road S107. In the evening and overnight, access road S107 towards the A10 Zuid will also be closed.

Save the date: 'Schinkelbrug Experience' on 22 September

Make a note of Tuesday, 22 September 2026 in your diary. That is when the second movable bridge deck for the new Schinkelbrug will arrive in Amsterdam by water. That evening, the 235-tonne steel bascule deck will be lifted into position. It promises to be a remarkable operation and you can be there to watch it.
One step closer to completing new viaduct at De Nieuwe Meer junction

31 August - 4 September: Parnassusweg closure

From Monday, 31 August at 07.00 until Friday, 4 September 2026 at 17.00, the eastern side of Parnassusweg (towards the city centre) will be closed to motorised traffic. During this period, we will be working on a new metro viaduct.
Tender launched for plot 2 in Beethoven neighbourhood

In 2028, Zuidas will gain a new public artwork on the waterfront near Nobu Residences Park Meadows Amsterdam and Beatrixpark. From a shortlist of three candidates, the committee chose ‘Onvoorzien’ (Unforeseen) by artist Femke Herregraven.

Until Monday, 17 August 2026, Amstelveenseweg beneath the A10 Zuid is closed to motorised traffic. During the closure, which lasts just over six weeks, we are constructing additional viaducts as part of the widening of the A10 Zuid. What have we achieved so far?
Underpass beneath Beethovenstraat viaducts closed for four weeks

In July and August 2026, the underpass beneath the road and railway viaducts in Beethovenstraat will be closed to cars and buses for four weeks. During this period, we will be preparing for the construction of the A10 tunnel. Further along, the Beethovenstraat/Ravellaan junction will also be redesigned.
Pile ‘Ryan’ driven into the ground alongside the A10 Zuid
Between the Schinkelbrug and Piet Kranenbergpad, we installed the final pile for the so-called pile mattress. Student Ryan is now permanently connected to the pile after winning a competition that gave him the opportunity to write his name on it.
Dismantling of colourful ‘box building’ alongside the A10 Zuid

The distinctive red-and-blue box building alongside the A10 Zuid is being removed. Over the coming weeks, the containers that make up the temporary building formerly used by Amsterdam UMC-Cancer Center Amsterdam (CCA) will be lifted out. The site is needed for a temporary construction road for the future A10 Zuid tunnel.
10–12 July: A4 and A10 Zuid closed up to S108

During the weekend of 10–12 July 2026, part of the A10 Zuid will be closed in the direction of the A1 Hengelo and the A2 Utrecht. During this closure, we will lift girders into place for the new southern Schinkelbrug bridge. Additional journey times may be up to one hour.
4 July: piling works at the De Nieuwe Meer junction

On Saturday, 4 July, between 07.00 and 19.00, we will be driving piles into the ground on the southern side of the A10 Zuid, between the Schinkelbrug and Piet Kranenbergpad. During the works, one lane will be closed and there will be some noise disturbance.
First residents move into Ravel as Ravelly is completed
Zuidas has gained 75 new social rented homes. The very first residential tower in the new, low-traffic Ravel neighbourhood has now been completed: Ravelly. The first residents will move in this summer.
Weekend work at the Schinkelbrug postponed

During the weekend of Friday, 29 June 2026, we had planned to lift girders into place for the new southern Schinkelbrug bridge. A fault in the traffic signalling system meant that the work could not go ahead and has therefore been rescheduled.
Neighbourhood favours an active design for De Boelelaan Midden

Sweltering Dutch Building Day draws 700 visitors

It was a scorching hot day, almost tropical. Even so, Dutch Building Day 2026 at the De Nieuwe Meer junction drew no fewer than 700 visitors. They could hardly believe their eyes on top of the new flyover, and there was plenty more to see and do.
275 Eigen Haard rental homes in the Ravel neighbourhood

The City of Amsterdam and housing association Eigen Haard have agreed plans for approximately 275 rental homes in the new Ravel residential neighbourhood. Most of the homes will be social housing. The plans will now be worked out in greater detail.
26 – 29 June: A4 and A10 Zuid closed up to exit S108

From 26 to 29 June 2026, the A10 Zuid towards the A1 (Hengelo) and A2 (Utrecht) will be closed. During this weekend, we will be lifting girders into place for the new southern Schinkelbrug. Motorists should allow for up to one hour of extra travel time.
22 June: Information Centre Zuidas-Zuidasdok relocates
From Monday, 22 June 2026, our Information Centre will be relocating to a new site just 50 metres from Amsterdam Zuid station, near Zuidplein. We look forward to welcoming you there after the summer holidays. Until then, a colourful 'pipowagen' cabin at Mahlerplein will serve as our temporary base. Will we you there?
June, July and August: traffic disruption on Parnassusweg

From 18 June to 3 July and from 24 to 28 August 2026, Parnassusweg will be closed to northbound motor traffic (towards the city centre). During this time, we will be building a new metro viaduct between the existing viaducts.
‘Scala’: 73 new rental homes in Kenniskwartier

The Kenniskwartier neighbourhood is set to gain 73 new mid-market and private-sector rental homes. The sustainable Scala development, comprising eight residential floors, will feature a lively ground floor area and a distinctive passageway connecting the street frontage with an inner courtyard. Scala is scheduled for completion in 2030.
3 July-17 August: Amstelveenseweg closed beneath the A10 Zuid

From 3 July until 17 August 2026, Amstelveenseweg beneath the A10 Zuid will be closed to motor traffic. During this period, we will continue work on widening the viaduct. The widening is required to accommodate the new lanes of the A10 Zuid.
Over 150,000 construction transports for the A10 tunnel

Over the coming years, the A10 Zuid will be moved partly underground into the future A10 tunnel, which will run through the heart of Zuidas. This requires a huge logistical operation, involving an average of around 80 transports of materials and machinery every working day. How will we manage this?

1 November: Brittenpassage opens at Amsterdam Zuid station
A long-awaited milestone: after years of construction, we will open the additional passenger tunnel at Amsterdam Zuid station on 1 November 2026. At 15 metres wide, the new Brittenpassage, with its lifts, escalators, shops and bicycle parking facility, will significantly improve the travel experience.
Weekend of 12-15 June: A10 Zuid towards the A4 and A10 West closed
From Friday, 12 June 2026 at 22.00 until Monday, 15 June at 05.00, the A10 Zuid will be closed from the S108 access road (inner ring road) in the direction of the A4 and A10 West. The roads connecting the A10 Noord to the A10 Oost and the A10 Oost to the A10 Zuid will also be closed. You can expect journey times to increase by 30-60 minutes.
Lifting the final girders for the new Schinkelbrug

In June 2026, we will complete the main structures of the two new bridges that form part of the Schinkelbrug. During two weekend operations, we will lift the final giant girders into place for the new bridges on the northern and southern sides. Rapid progress towards completion of the A10 Zuid flyover
