20 November: sheet pile works in Van Beinumstraat

Starting on Monday, 20 November, we will be using vibration to insert sheet piles into the ground in Eduard van Beinumstraat. This is where we are working to clear the area underground to enable the construction of the northern motorway tunnel. There may be disruption caused by noise and vibration.

15 November: meeting on regeneration of Amstel interchange

On 15 November 2023, we are organising two walk-in meetings at the Zuid City Office for residents, businesses and others stakeholders interested in the future regeneration of the Amstel interchange by Zuidasdok. You are warmly welcome to attend.

Two nights of lifting work in Parnassusweg

In the two nights from Monday 30 October to Wednesday, 1 November, we will be working on the metro viaduct above Parnassusweg. We are doing this at night for safety reasons.

Sheet piling work in Van Beinumstraat postponed

Today was supposed to see the start of work installing sheet piling into the ground in Eduard van Beinumstraat. However, these works have now been postponed until further notice as a result of a setback.

One metro track closed due to minor subsidence

UPDATE 21 October, 13.00: Since early afternoon on 21 October, the 50 and 51 metro service from Amsterdam Zuid station in the direction of Amsterdam Central Station and Gein has resumed. We are now permanently monitoring the situation.

Preparatory work on A10 Zuid in Van Beinumstraat

From 16 October 2023 until Christmas, part of Eduard van Beinumstraat (next to Wagamama restaurant) will be transformed temporarily into a construction site. We are clearing the area underground to enable the construction of the northern motorway tunnel.

Dig-dig-dig for extra station passageway

After years of construction away from public view, the digging has started for the passenger tunnel at Amsterdam Zuid station: the Brittenpassage. We are removing 50,000 cubic metres of sand from underneath the A10, metro and railway tracks. And the site is spectacular to behold.

Limited access at Amsterdam Zuid station for two weekends

In the weekends of 9-10 and 23-24 September 2023, there will be disruption for travellers wishing to access the metro or railway from Zuidplein. The station entrance will be closed for up to 10 minutes on a regular basis (every two hours). There will also be noise disruption.

Removing greenery from De Nieuwe Meer interchange

During the preparations for the reconstruction of the De Nieuwe Meer interchange, we have been able to conduct soil surveys without any hindrance. But from the end of August 2023, there will be no way of avoiding it: in order to conduct further surveys and investigations, we need to remove the plants.

Reminder: A10 Zuid closed in the direction of Schiphol for two weekends

For two weekends in September 2023, there will be major traffic disruption on the south side of Amsterdam. Between 8 and 11 September and between 22 and 25 September, the A10 Zuid in the direction of Schiphol and The Hague will be closed from the Amstel interchange to the S108 VUmc access road.

Parnassusweg station entrance already back in use

The station entrance in Parnassusweg was open again on Monday 21 August – two weeks earlier than scheduled. We removed some underground cables and pipelines in order to create space for the future motorway tunnels for the A10 Zuid.

Surveys and investigations at De Nieuwe Meer interchange

The summer of 2023 is about more than just the regeneration of Amsterdam Zuid station. At the De Nieuwe Meer interchange, TriAX is hard at work conducting all kinds of investigations in preparation for the reconstruction of the interchange.
