It will not be very long before The Newton is completed in Kop Zuidas. When it comes to the appearance and quality of this energy-efficient complex, it is obvious that no expense has been spared. ‘This is genuine craftsmanship: in no way is this standard housing construction.’
The relandscaping of Europaplein-Oost has now been completed. The project has had its fair share of setbacks: firstly, in reaching agreement with local residents and then dealing with issues involving the design and construction/landscaping. But the result is worth the wait. Be sure not to miss the official opening on Thursday, 17 November 2022.
More than a year since construction started, the Crossover building, in the Kop Zuidas district, is visibly starting to take shape. You definitely cannot miss the spectacular office tower of this multifunctional complex, which almost looks as if it is leaning.
The first concrete has been poured for the energy-efficient apartment block The Newton in Kop Zuidas, on which construction started last year. But this is not just any concrete. The Newton will have the highest percentage of circular concrete in the Netherlands.
Construction work started on the apartment complex ‘The Newton’ on 22 November 2021. The building will accommodate 101 modern, energy-efficient free-market rental apartments. They will be located in Kop Zuidas, the most easterly neighbourhood of Zuidas.
The CROSSOVER building, currently under construction in the Kop Zuidas neighbourhood, will feature a special mixture of residents and users. It will have space for residence permit-holders, first-timers and businesses. The focus will be on friendships, working together and knowledge-sharing.
Work starts on the housing complex The Newton in Kop Zuidas on around 1 November 2021. But there’s much more happening in this most easterly neighbourhood of Zuidas. Buildings are appearing, an old building is disappearing and we are working on new public squares. We provide an overview below.
This week, the trees were hoisted up onto the roof gardens on Terrace Tower. The additional greenery will make Zuidas more attractive to new businesses, boosting the City Council’s ambition to make the area more sustainable and greener.

The area between the RIV and Zuidoever buildings in Eemlandstraat is soon to have its own pocket park, complete with play area. Work starts on 29 March 2021 and by mid-May, children will be able to play there, while adults make use of the new seating.
