We are currently in the process of partially demolishing the former Atrium car park underneath the A10 Zuid. This work is necessary because this is where the entrance to the additional station passageway – the Brittenpassage – will be. All of the concrete removed will be reused.
Because the metro viaduct across Parnassusweg is being widened, the carriageway in the direction of Amstelveen will be close to cars and buses between 24 July and 1 October 2023. However, slow traffic can continue to use Parnassusweg during the works.
Starting on 31 July, we will be doing preparatory work for the future A10 tunnel in Matthijs Vermeulenpad. For the safety of passers-by, this often-used route, leading from Beethovenstraat to Zuidplein and the station, will be closed completely.
There’s not long to go now: from the evening of Saturday, 5 August until the morning of Monday, 14 August, the A4 and A10 Zuid will be closed from the Badhoevedorp interchange to the S109 RAI access road. We are certainly ready for it. But is everybody else in Zuidas?

In the last week of June 2023, we had to halt sheet piling work west of Amsterdam Zuid station due to the instability of the metro track. We will complete the work on Saturday 1 July, after which we will repair the track.
Between 5 and 14 August 2023, the A4 and A10 Zuid will be closed for a period of eight days. After that, we will build the A10 back with a small ‘meander’ slightly to the south. This will create space to widen the most southerly railway platform at Amsterdam Zuid station.
On 22 June 2023, Mark Harbers, Minister of Infrastructure and Water Management approved the 2023 changes to the Zuidasdok Routing Decision (‘Tracébesluit Zuidasdok (wijziging 2023)’). This involves an amendment to the routing decision originally agreed in 2016. The relevant documents are available for viewing from 23 June until 3 August 2023.
On National Architecture Day (‘Dag van de Architectuur’), we will be focusing on our own area. Rather than singling out one of Zuidas’ acclaimed buildings, we will take a look at the infrastructure. What is the architectural vision behind Zuidasdok?
