Drilling 25 m deep in the Brittenpassage

Underneath the roof of the additional passageway at Amsterdam Zuid station, we are doing much more than just digging. Alexander Bor from the Nieuw-Zuid Construction Consortium tells us all about it. ‘By the start of 2024, the southern side of the Brittenpassage will have reached the right depth.’

We have reached yet another milestone for the new passageway at Amsterdam Zuid station. The intensive construction work on the roof is gradually coming to an end. We are pouring some 240 cubic metres of concrete for the seventh and final roof section of the new Brittenpassage

20 November: sheet pile works in Van Beinumstraat

Starting on Monday, 20 November, we will be using vibration to insert sheet piles into the ground in Eduard van Beinumstraat. This is where we are working to clear the area underground to enable the construction of the northern motorway tunnel. There may be disruption caused by noise and vibration.

Anti-graffiti tests for Amsterdam Zuid station

We have conducted tests to identify which coating and which removal product will be most effective in combating graffiti at the new Amsterdam Zuid station. We have found a product that most effectively meets our requirements.

15 November: meeting on regeneration of Amstel interchange

On 15 November 2023, we are organising two walk-in meetings at the Zuid City Office for residents, businesses and others stakeholders interested in the future regeneration of the Amstel interchange by Zuidasdok. You are warmly welcome to attend.

Two nights of lifting work in Parnassusweg

In the two nights from Monday 30 October to Wednesday, 1 November, we will be working on the metro viaduct above Parnassusweg. We are doing this at night for safety reasons.

Sheet piling work in Van Beinumstraat postponed

Today was supposed to see the start of work installing sheet piling into the ground in Eduard van Beinumstraat. However, these works have now been postponed until further notice as a result of a setback.

One metro track closed due to minor subsidence

UPDATE 21 October, 13.00: Since early afternoon on 21 October, the 50 and 51 metro service from Amsterdam Zuid station in the direction of Amsterdam Central Station and Gein has resumed. We are now permanently monitoring the situation.

First visitors to Brittenpassage can hardly believe their eyes

The big day finally arrived on 11 October 2023. For the first time ever, interested parties had an opportunity to take a walk through the future Brittenpassage, the additional passageway at Amsterdam Zuid station. Here’s an impression of what they saw.

Avoid having your bike removed

Do you regularly travel to Amsterdam Zuid station by bike? If you do, we have important news. Any bikes left around the station that are not parked in a designated spot, cycle rack or one of the (underground) bicycle parks can be removed.

Preparatory work on A10 Zuid in Van Beinumstraat

From 16 October 2023 until Christmas, part of Eduard van Beinumstraat (next to Wagamama restaurant) will be transformed temporarily into a construction site. We are clearing the area underground to enable the construction of the northern motorway tunnel.
