Zuidasdok report on the second half of 2021

Zuidasdok has updated Amsterdam City Council and the Dutch House of Representatives on progress made in the second half of 2021. The renovation of Amsterdam Zuid was given the go-ahead and the tender procedure for tackling the De Nieuwe Meer interchange was initiated.

Moving cables and pipes at Luchtvaartstraat

Work will be taking place on Overschiestraat/Luchtvaartstraat underpass (A10 West) until July 2022. This is the first of four locations where cables and pipelines are being relocated in preparation for the planned renovation of the motorway interchange at De Nieuwe Meer.

Tripolis-Park approaches completion

Around 18 months after construction started, Tripolis-Park is now gradually nearing completion. On the outside, the final sections of the new sustainable façade are being added to the former towers. Inside, the contractor is working on the finishing details.

Zuidasdok contracts EQUANS to move the controls for the bridges over the Schinkel

The number of bridges over the Schinkel will increase over the next few years, due to the widening of the southern carriageway of the A10 motorway. To make space for this, the two control towers will need to be removed and the controls moved elsewhere. EQUANS has been contracted to do this work.

Shrubbery to be removed from De Nieuwe Meer interchange

We are removing shrubs from the embankment at the De Nieuwe Meer interchange, next to Luchtvaartstraat. This is necessary to enable us to relocate cables and pipelines at this site because of reconstruction work on the junction.

Plans for housing on Sporthallen Zuid site pushed back

The plans for the construction of 500 to 600 homes on the current site of the Sporthallen Zuid sports complex have been modified. This is because of a change in the schedule for the new accommodation for the Sporthallen Zuid.

How will Verdi become greener?

On Tuesday, 28 September, Amsterdam Zuidas organised the Green Walk through Verdi. With around 45 local residents, we took a walk through the area and discussed the Verdi Green Plan ('Groenplan Verdi').

Cancelled: meetings on De Nieuwe Meer and Amstel interchanges

The Zuidasdok meetings scheduled for 24 and 25 November about the De Nieuwe Meer and Amstel interchanges will not go ahead. Because of the stricter coronavirus restrictions, we will be unable to organise these physical meetings in a responsible way.

Zuidasdok meetings on De Nieuwe Meer and Amstel interchanges

Tripolis Park completed on the outside as work continues inside

A milestone for Tripolis Park: the exterior of the building is now more or less completed and all square metres of office accommodation have been let. The contractor is now working on the interior. In this, sustainability is a very important factor.

28 September: walking and talking about a greener Verdi

The residents of Verdi, the westernmost neighbourhood of Zuidas, have heard a lot of talk about a greener Verdi. What exactly we mean by that is outlined in the Verdi Green Plan (‘Groenplan Verdi’). On 28 September 2021, we will be telling you all about it during a walk. Would you like to join us and take part in the conversation?

Tripolis Park exterior façade almost complete

The transformation of Tripolis Park has reached an important phase. A year and a half after the start of construction, work is now underway on the exterior. It is turning out to be quite a puzzle. ‘The original complex has more than 1,700 different window frames, all of which we had replicated.’
