The newest avenue to be created in Zuidas – Maurice Ravellaan – still has a long way to go before it looks like that, but the first work has already begun. Photo update: work on foundations for extra station passageway on schedule

The foundations for two roof sections for the additional passenger tunnel at Amsterdam Zuid station are now in the ground. On Saturday, 3 April 2021, the reinforcement cages were put in place and filled with concrete. So far, the work has run according to schedule. Here’s a brief impression of the work.

Fully prepared for over 100 hours’ work over Easter weekend

We are hard at work preparing for the long working weekend over Easter. That's when will be making the foundations for two new roof sections for the additional passenger tunnel at Amsterdam Zuid station – the Brittenpassage. We are currently assembling the caterpillar cranes.

Plans to expand WTC Amsterdam

Zuidas and CBRE Global Investors are working on a feasibility study for a possible new development to the south of the WTC, in Mathijs Vermeulenpad. In addition to the plans for Tower Ten, the WTC complex itself may also be expanded.

Investment plan for Verdi residential area officially adopted

On 31 March 2021, the City of Amsterdam adopted the investment plan for the second sub-section of the Verdi neighbourhood. A new residential area will be created on the site of Sporthallen Zuid, and the sports facilities will be moved to a new multi-storey structure.

Rainbow staircase to Zuidplein unveiled

The rainbow staircase, connecting Zuidplein and Strawinskylaan to each other, was officially unveiled on 31 March 2021. This means that Zuidas has another landmark, one that aims to boost the visibility and acceptance of the LGBTIQ+ community.

Ideas wanted for green area between housing complexes

Eemlandstraat in Kop Zuidas to have pocket park

The area between the RIV and Zuidoever buildings in Eemlandstraat is soon to have its own pocket park, complete with play area. Work starts on 29 March 2021 and by mid-May, children will be able to play there, while adults make use of the new seating.
