Around 1,700 more new homes in Zuidas by end of 2025

Between now and 2025, approximately 1,700 new homes are set to be built in Zuidas. Around 6,000 more will follow after that. This will amount to about 10,000 homes in total, considerably more than the 7,000 envisaged in the Zuidas Vision (Visie Zuidas). We are building them for all the people of Amsterdam.

Sporthallen Zuid makes way for 550 homes

Zuidas is set to welcome yet another housing development. In this case, it will be 550 new homes on the current site of the Sporthallen Zuid sports complex. Moving this elsewhere will create space for a new neighbourhood, featuring plenty of green areas and right next to sports and waterside amenities and schools.

New stair seating and widening of De Boelegracht

From the old BAM construction site, we are building a new canal wall and stairs that double up as seating for De Boelegracht, near Rosy Wertheimstraat. By working in this way, we are limiting the disruption caused by construction traffic.

Green space around Terrace Tower

Terrace Tower, which will house the headquarters of Suitsupply, is almost finished. Now it is time to create some beautiful public green space around this brand-new architectural masterpiece in the Kop Zuidas neighbourhood.

Thirteen trees to be removed from A10 embankment near Beatrixpark

In the week of 1 March 2021, we will fell 13 trees along the A10 motorway near Beatrixpark. The trees were going to be felled anyway due to the Zuidasdok project. They are being removed now because we will be creating a site access road for the residential buildings planned nearby.

Design for Europaplein-Oost now definitive

After two years of designing and talking to local residents, we now have a definitive design for Europaplein-Oost, located opposite RAI. We have made a few changes to the provisional design that we presented in December 2020.

New Parnassusweg crossing near courthouse

In Parnassusweg, a pedestrian crossing is being built between the Atrium and the new courthouse. Work will start on 1 March 2021. It is expected to cause some disruption to traffic. There is also a minor issue with an awkwardly-positioned tree.

Photo update: construction work on extra station passageway

It’s happening in the heart of Zuidas and they’re gigantic. Despite that, not many people will have noticed that we are currently building two sections of the roof for the extra passenger tunnel at Amsterdam Zuid station. Below, we provide a builder’s eye view.

Visit the Amsterdam Zuidas Information Centre online

The Amsterdam Zuidas Information Centre is expanding – and it’s happening online. A very practical move, especially in these times of coronavirus. But even after that, you’ll still be able to take a crash course on Zuidas from the comfort of your sofa. Of course, it's still always nicer and more educational to pay a visit in person.

Neighbours respond positively to Ravel

If everything goes smoothly, the City Council will officially approve the zoning plan for the new Ravel residential district in the summer of 2021. We have held talks on several occasions with businesses, employees and residents nearby in order to take their ideas on board as much as possible.

Tree-felling to make way for Conservatorium and De Puls

We are cutting down trees in two places in Zuidas. In order to provide space for the Conservatorium van Amsterdam music academy in Kapel & Convict, fifteen trees need to be felled. We will also be removing fifteen trees along the A10 in order to build De Puls.

Five views on zoning plan for Ravel residential district

Five responses (referred to as views) have been submitted in response to the draft zoning plan for the new Ravel residential district. The plan was open for consultation for six weeks starting from 24 December 2020. So, what happens next?
